In 1839 a store was built and a few houses. By 1842 the settlement had grown to 6 buildings and 30 residents. That little settlement now known as Atlanta, was incorporated in 1845. When 1854 arrived, rail lines came into Atlanta from 4 different directions. That would change. The stage was set for the future. Look what it is today!
Now, Atlanta with an estimated 2016 population of 472,522, has become a major hub of commerce. Major interstate highways links it to most commercial centers north, south, east and west. It’s culture includes all ethnic groups.
A center for arts, music and corporate development. Home to Buckhead, Fox Theatre, Georgia State Capitol, Centennial Olympic Park, Millennium Gate, Canopy Walk, Georgia Aquarium, The Phoenix statue, and Piedmont Park.
Several companies call Atlanta home: The Coca Cola Company, The Home Depot, Turner Broadcasting, AT&T Mobility, UPS, Delta Air Lines , and more. The growth has also brought small businesses to every part of metro Atlanta.
